about

modern folklore started in 2020 as a band—a group of friends making music in uncertain times, trying to connect, say something honest, and maybe have some fun along the way. but after years of chasing the grind, it became clear that what we were doing wasn’t enough. we got so caught up in trying to play the game that we lost sight of why we started in the first place.

so, in october 2023, we played what we thought was our final show.

but here we are, over a year later, back—not just as a band, but as something more.

welcome to the new modern folklore: a multimedia creative collective exploring the intersections of music, storytelling, and visual art. at its heart is this space, a home for essays, reflections, and explorations of art, philosophy, and humanity. it’s where music, writing, and creativity collide to make sense of the messy, magical chaos of being human in an increasingly complicated world.

through the blog, we’ll share the behind-the-scenes of our creative process—from the pre-production of our upcoming psychological horror film, iii, to the writing and recording of new music. alongside that, you’ll find personal essays and thought pieces that dive into the deeper questions of connection, creativity, and what it means to exist in this strange modern age.

this isn’t just about making art—it’s about rediscovering the stories that tie us all together.
